EUGENE, Ore. - Nicole Gall scored 12 of her team-high 18 points in a second half opening 18-5 run, as The College of Idaho averted a second upset from Northwest Christian, stopping the Beacons, 76-67, inside the Morse Center.

With the win, the No. 16 ranked Lady Yotes (17-5, 13-2 CCC) extended their win streak to six games and moved one game away from clinching at least a tie for their second-straight Cascade Conference championship.

The Beacons (8-17, 2-14), whose lone win in a 15-game stretch was a 66-65 upset win over The C of I in Caldwell, used a 17-1 first half run to take control of the period, grabbing their biggest lead of the game at 38-27 on a Jenneca Crocker three-pointer buzzer-beating three-pointer to close the period.

However, the Lady Yotes responded, scoring the first ten points of the second half in a 132 second span, taking the lead for good at 45-43 on a Gall three-pointer with 15-minutes remaining. The C of I would hit 59-percent of their field goal attempts in the second stanza and hold a commanding 21-5 edge at the foul line after halftime.

Whitney Owen scored 16 points off the bench, while Nicole Bruce added 14 points in the victory for the Coyotes.

Lori Renner led all scorers with 24 points, with Crocker adding 11 in the loss for NCU.

The Lady Yotes close out the road portion of their regular-season schedule tomorrow night with a 5:30 p.m. (PT) tip at Corban College.
