SALEM, Ore. – Former Oregon State Associate Head Coach Paul Meehan has been named as the new head men's soccer coach at Corban College, as announced Friday by Dave Johnson, Director of Athletics.

"I would like to thank Dr. Hoff, Dr. Lucas, Dr. Bale, and Dave Johnson for giving me the opportunity to coach at Corban," said Meehan. "I look forward to developing players and establishing a tradition of winning in an environment where student-athletes can recognize their potential and achieve at the highest possible level, while enhancing their faith and education."

Meehan takes over a Warrior program that returns 13 players from last season's roster and has compiled a win-loss record of 26-39-8 over the past four seasons, while advancing to the post season twice.

"Paul will bring a wealth of expertise in the fields of recruiting, player development, and game management," said Johnson. "His experience in recruiting will be valuable to all of our coaches. Mostly, Paul has the desire to succeed while glorifying the Lord. We are excited to welcome Paul to the Corban family, as he will be a great addition to our staff."

Prior to his arrival at Corban, Meehan spent three seasons (2006-08) as Oregon State's lead assistant to former head coach Dana Taylor. Working with Taylor, Meehan focused in the areas of recruiting, training and conditioning, budgeting and scheduling, community service, compliance, alumni relations, and summer camps.

In three seasons with the Beavers, Meehan helped guide Oregon State to a 19-31-6 mark. Meehan's recruiting efforts helped bring in former Beaver Danny Mwanga, who was named 2008 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, 2009 Pac-10 Player of the Year, and who was selected No. 1 overall in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by the expansion Philadelphia Union.

Prior to Oregon State, Meehan had coaching stints at NCAA Division I members Marshall (1997-98, 2003-06) and Fresno State (1998-99). With Fresno State, Meehan helped lead the Bulldogs to the 1998 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship and helped FSU advance to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championships.

Meehan’s collegiate coaching career began at Bellevue Community College in Washington, where he established an 82-43-16 record that included three Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) titles and Coach of the Year honors twice.

After growing up in Seattle, Meehan played at then-NAIA member Western Washington from 1980-82. He served as team captain and was an all-conference selection in 1981. He graduated in 1983 with a degree in physical education.

Following his time at Western Washington in 1984, Meehan helped lead Team USA of the American Indoor Soccer Association to a 4-5-2 record and played with Major Indoor Soccer League's Milwaukee Wave reserve team.

Meehan and his wife, Pam, currently reside in Corvallis with their three children: Zane, Zoe, and Zuri. The Meehan family attends Calvary Chapel Corvallis.
