NAMPA, Idaho - The College of Idaho track and field team had a quality performance at the Boise State Team Meet inside the Jackson's Indoor Track, hitting one NAIA "A" and two NAIA "B" marks on the afternoon.
Leading the charge was Ashley Miller, who finished fourth in the highly-competitive 800-meters, defeating 14 NCAA Division I runners. Miller, already headed to the NAIA Indoor National Championships as part of the Lady Yotes distance medley relay, ran a time of 2:18.17 - hitting the NAIA "A" standard and setting a new school record.
The Lady Yotes 4x400-meter relay team also crushed the school record, as the team of Emily McCutchan, Maggie Miller, Ashley Miller, and Colleen Smith hit the NAIA "B" standard with their time of 4:05.11. McCutchan also set a school record in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles (9.65).
The men's team also had a provisional national qualifier, as Greg Montgomery led a group of three Coyote runners to break the nine-minute barrier in the 3,000-meters. The freshman hit the NAIA "B" standard with his sixth-place finish (8:46.18), with both J.J. Burk (8:55.69) and Andrew Hugill (8:56.29) both hitting personal bests.
The Lady Yotes will close out their regular-season next weekend at the Bobcat Open in Bozeman, Mont.
