BOX SCORE

SALEM, Ore. – Junior Ian Logan (Aloha, Ore.) netted a game-high 20 points on 7-for-17 shooting from the field and went 5-for-7 at the free throw line, but it was not enough as Corban's men's basketball team had its two-game winning streak snapped by The College of Idaho, 70-58, Saturday night inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

On Senior Recognition Night, Corban nearly kept its playoff hopes alive before falling to 8-20 overall and 3-14 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho improved to 9-14 overall and 5-11 in league action.

Logan, who pulled within 10 points of becoming the program's 24th player to score 1,000-or-more points in a career, almost single-handedly brought the Warriors back into tonight's contest before free throw shooting down the stretch by the visiting Coyotes sealed the deal.

Senior Ben Potloff (Keizer, Ore.), who was honored prior to the start of tonight's game for his time, dedication, and hard work over the past four seasons, aided Logan in the scoring category with 14 points on 4-for-13 shooting from the field. No other Warrior scored in double figures, as juniors Nash Keene (Aumsville, Ore.) and Deonte Johnson (Modesto, Calif.) chipped in with five points each. On the boards, Johnson grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds to go along with a trio of Warriors – Keene, Potloff, and sophomore Brelin Powell (Boise, Idaho) – that handed out a team-high two assists each.

Corban would open tonight's game scoring the first 10 points on a perfect 2-for-2 shooting from the field coupled with a perfect 5-for-5 showing at the free throw line. Unfortunately, the host Warriors' lead would not last long as The College of Idaho used a 32-22 run over a span of nine-plus minutes to knot things at 32-all following a Noah Gottlieb three-pointer with 3:39 left. The visiting Coyotes would then use a 7-2 run en route to securing a five-point lead (39-34) before settling for a three-point half time advantage (39-36) after Logan hit a jumper in the paint just before the buzzer.

In the second half, The College of Idaho would extend its lead to as much as seven points (55-48) before Corban battled back to take a one-point lead at 56-55 following a Potloff old fashion three-point play with 4:57 remaining. Unfortunately that would be the final time that Corban would hold a lead, as the visiting 'Yotes used a closing 15-2 run en route to securing the 12-point victory (70-58).

The College of Idaho was led in scoring by Craig McGee, who tallied 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, three other Coyotes – Gottlieb, Matt Ballenger, and Kelvin Potts – added 14, 13, and 11 points respectively to go along with Potts and Kelly McCarthy's game-high three assists each.

As a team, Corban shot 18-for-60 (30.0%) from the field to go along with a 3-for-17 (17.6%) showing from beyond the three-point arc and a 19-for-25 (76.0%) performance at the free throw line. On the other hand, The College of Idaho was 22-for-49 (44.9%) from the field, 7-for-19 (36.8%) from long distance, and 19-for-26 (73.1%) at the charity stripe.

Corban will step onto the hardwood for the final time during the 2009-10 season next Friday, February 19th, against conference rival Northwest Christian beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. inside the Morse Event Center in Eugene.
