PORTLAND, Ore. – College of Idaho Ray Santiago has been named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week and Corban’s Jacob Kopra has been named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced.

Santiago, a 6-1 junior infielder from Ventura, Calif., went 8 for 15 at the plate and drove in five runs as the Yotes went 2-2 at a season-opening tournament in Lewiston hosted by Lewis-Clark State. Santiago had four doubles and a pair of homers as he equaled his 2009 hit total and eclipsed his 2009 RBI total in one weekend.

Kopra picked up his second victory of the season thanks to an impressive performance in a win over College of Idaho. In 6 1/3 innings of work, Kopra spaced four hits, struck out three and allowed just one run as Corban posted a 7-3 victory to advance to the championship game of the Regence BlueShield of Idaho Tournament.
