OIT Men Ranked No. 2, 3 Other CCC Teams Listed
PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech, winner of 13 of its last 14 games, has achieved its highest national ranking of the season, climbing into the No. 2 spot in the NAIA Division II men’s basketball poll entering the final weekend of the regular season.
The Hustlin’ Owls, who lead the CCC with a 13-3 record, are 24-4 overall. OIT picked up one first-place vote and 416 points overall in voting by a nationwide panel of coaches. Walsh (Ohio) earned 15 first-place votes and 436 points overall to earn the No. 1 ranking for the second consecutive week.
OIT closes out the CCC regular season this weekend when it visits Portland to face Concordia Friday and No. 20 Warner Pacific Saturday.
The CCC is one of two conferences with four teams in the Top 25. In addition to OIT, Eastern Oregon is ranked 15th, Warner Pacific 20th and Evergreen 24th.
The final national rating will be released Monday, Feb. 22.
