OIT's Coates, CU's Puflrey Earn Softball Honors
PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech outfielder Sara Coates and Concordia pitcher Danielle Pulfrey have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in softball.
Coates, a 5-7 freshman from Salem, Ore., batted .615 (8 of 13), drove in six runs and scored six times as the Owls went 3-1 at the Northwest Cup in Portland. Coates had homers vs. Lewis and Clark and Puget Sound.
Pulfrey, a 5-7 senior from Hillsboro, Ore., earned two wins and a save as Concordia went 4-0. She recorded a win in relief against Willamette, a save with three innings of work against Puget Sound, and a complete game shutout vs. Lewis & Clark.
