EUGENE, Ore. – Katie Casebeer has been named the new Women’s Soccer Coach for Northwest Christian University, and will immediately begin recruiting efforts for the 2010 season. Casebeer was an assistant coach for the program last season.

Casebeer spent her first season as an assistant coach with the NCU women’s program in 2009. She had previously spent two seasons as the Head Coach for the girl’s soccer program at Pleasant Hill HS, leading the Billies to the second round of the state playoffs in 2007.

Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, “Katie is going to bring an energy level to our women’s soccer program that will be second to none. Coach Casebeer has a great knowledge base of the Cascade Conference from her playing career while at Corban and through her assistant coaching position with us this past season. Katie comes in highly recommended from outgoing Head Coach Jonathan Rea. She will continue to build on what Jonathan was implementing, as well as move our women’s soccer program to another level.”

Casebeer played 80 games for Corban College from 2002-2005, helping to lead the Warriors to a runner-up finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championships as a freshman. She has previously worked with People to People Sports Ambassadors, coaching internationally on trips to Holland and Austria. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Corban.

Coach Casebeer said, “It is a privilege to be able to work with this soccer program. I am so excited to be a part of a school that combines an amazing sport with an even more amazing God.”
