PORTLAND, Ore. – Cascade Collegiate Conference basketball action resumes this weekend with a slate of nine games on both the men’s and women’s sides.
Three weekends remain in the CCC’s regular season, and a host of teams are battling for berths and seeding positions in the postseason CCC tournaments. The men’s and women’s regular season champions secure automatic berths in the NAIA’s national championship field, as do the winners of the conference postseason tournament (tourney runner-up if the regular season champion also wins the conference tournament).
One of the key battles on the women’s side takes place in Caldwell, Idaho Friday night as conference-leading College of Idaho entertains Eastern Oregon at 5:30 p.m. The C of I is rated 16th nationally this week, with EOU also receiving votes in the national poll.
On the men’s side, a Top 25 matchup takes place in Klamath Falls as No. 3 Oregon Tech plays host to No. 25 Evergreen at 7:30 p.m. The Hustlin’ Owls have won 32 in a row at Danny Miles Court since suffering a CCC tournament loss to Evergreen in 2008.
