CALDWELL, Idaho - Three College of Idaho players scored in double figures, while the Lady Yotes held the top three-point shooting club in the league to just 27-percent from outside the arc, defeating Eastern Oregon, 73-59, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

With the win, the No. 16 ranked Lady Yotes (16-5, 12-2 CCC) completed a season sweep of their I-84 rivals, while claiming a full two-game lead over Warner Pacific and Northwest in the Cascade Conference standings. The C of I also clinched a home game in the quarterfinal round of the CCC Tournament, beginning Feb. 23.

A see-saw game early, the Coyotes took control with an 11-0 first half run to build a 30-20 lead. Whitney Owen had a pair of lay-ups, Katie Strunk added a jumper, Katelin Shannon a pair of free throws, and Katie Brewer nailed a trey, as the hosts claimed the lead for good.

The Mountaineers (15-9, 9-5) clawed within 54-45 midway through the second half on a Samantha Flett basket, but the Coyotes got a Nicole Gall three-point play, an Owen lay-up, and a Gall jumper, to push the margin to 16 points – and the hosts were never threatened again.

Strunk and Gall led the way with 14 points each, with Gall leading all players with five steals. Shannon had a career-high 11 points for the Lady Yotes, with Owen adding nine points. The C of I connected on 49-percent of their field goals and committed just 12 turnovers.

Kyle Miller led EOU with a game-high 20 points, with Ashlee Michelson scoring ten in the loss for the Mounties.

The Lady Yotes return to action next weekend, playing Friday at Northwest Christian and Saturday at Corban.
