EUGENE, Ore. – Brett Bentley has been named the new Men’s Soccer Coach for Northwest Christian University, and will immediately begin recruiting efforts for the 2010 season.

Athletic Director Corey Anderson said, “Brett is going to be a great addition to the men’s soccer program as well as to the NCU athletic staff. Brett has a very strong soccer background with a lot of experience in recruiting. We are all very excited to get a quality, experienced and passionate leader to work with our soccer program”.

Bentley comes to the Beacons most recently from Corban College, where he spent the last two seasons as the lead assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s soccer teams. He is also currently the Training Director and a head coach with the Keizer Soccer Club. Coach Bentley has been coaching competitive soccer for the past nine years, which included stints as the varsity boys soccer coach at Estrella Foothills HS in Goodyear, Ariz., and as the women’s assistant coach at Grand Canyon University.

Bentley played collegiately at UC Riverside and Yavapai Junior College before finishing his career at Corban, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He was an All-Cascade Collegiate Conference selection with the Warriors and went on to play three seasons for the Cascade Surge of the Premiere Development League in the USL, including one season as a player/coach. Bentley has also played and coached internationally with various global soccer missions organizations.

Coach Bentley said, “I am excited about the opportunity to coach the men’s soccer program at Northwest Christian and to take the program to the next level. Just as important, I look forward to helping NCU’s soccer players strengthen their relationships with Jesus Christ.”
