CCC TV: Yotes, Mounties for Tourney Title
CALDWELL, Idaho -- It will be a slight variation of the I-84 Cup here Monday night as College of Idaho and rival Eastern Oregon -- institutions separated by just 145 miles on I-84 -- square off in the CCC women's basketball tournament championship game.
Both teams have secured automatic berths in next week's NAIA Championships in Sioux City, Iowa, so tonight's battle is for bragging rights -- and a little more hardware.
Tonight's game can be seen live on the CCC TV Network at this link.
College of Idaho enters the contest as the tournament's No. 1 seed after winning the CCC's regular season title with a 14-4 record. C of I advanced to tonight's title tilt by posting tournament victories over Concordia and Southern Oregon. Eastern Oregon, the tourney's fourth seed, earned its way into the championship game by posting home victories over Oregon Tech and Corban.
The CCC's two automatic bids to the national tournament are awarded to the regular season champion and tournament champion. If the regular season champion also wins the CCC's postseason tourney, the tournament runner-up is awarded the second berth.
