Coyotes Hit 19 CCC Marks in Windy NNU Open

NAMPA, Idaho - Battling a 30 mile-per-hour wind, The College of Idaho track and field team notched 19 Cascade Conference automatic qualifying times at the Northwest Nazarene Open.

On the men's side, Paul Sartin picked up a victory in the 10,000-meters (32:25.68), one of eight Coyotes in the Top-10 - missing the NAIA "B" standard by five seconds. The Yotes also fared well in the field events, as Andre Archer crushed the school record in winning the triple jump (44-8 3/4), Sam Finch won the long jump (21-0), and Gavin Gaskell took second in the high jump (5-10 3/4). Zeke Wilson placed second in the 1,500-meters (4:14.58), with the 4x400-meter relay team also placing second (3:33.50).

The Lady Yotes saw Emily McCutchan open up her outdoor season in style, breaking the school record in the 100-meter hurdles (16.15), while running the leadoff leg of the winning 4x400 relay (4:08.64), and anchoring the second-place 4x100 relay team (51.45).

Candace Crew was the other winner for the Lady Yotes, grabbing the title in the high jump (). Maggie Miller placed second in the 800 (2:22.89), Ashley Miller took second in the 1,500 (4:57.14), with Stevee Alletag (1:14.74) taking second in the 400-hurdles.

The Yotes will use the next two weeks for training, preparing for the All-Idaho Collegiate Cup the first week of April.
