The following Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as Players of the Week in their respective sports for the period of March 8-14:

BASEBALL
Player – College of Idaho’s Izaac Garsez, a 6-1 sophomore outfielder from Caldwell, Idaho, helped the Yotes to a four-game split with 13th-ranked University of British Columbia. In four games, Garsez batted .429 with two doubles, a triple and five RBI’s. He was 6 for 14 at the plate and posted a slugging percentage of.714. Honorable mention: Tim Reavis, Concordia.

Pitcher –College of Idaho’s Ben Rosen, a 6-4 senior from Eagle River, Alaska, won his fourth straight start when he pitched a complete-game victory over No. 13 University of British Columbia. In seven innings, Rosen spaced seven hits, allowed just one run, walked one and fanned four. He earned the CCC honor for the second time this season. Honorable mention: Tyson Kisselburg, Concordia.

SOFTBALL
Player – Northwest Christian’s Brooke Davis, a 5-9 sophomore from Sherwood, Ore., tied an NAIA record with three homers vs. University of British Columbia and set an NAIA standard for total bases in a game (14). In four games, Davis batted .600 with two doubles, three homers and seven RBI’s. She drove in six runs in her three-homer effort vs. the Thunderbirds. It marked the second time in her career she had hit three home runs in a game. Honorable mention: Becca Gawlista, Concordia; Iris Woodhead, Eastern Oregon.

Pitcher – Concordia’s Renee Santos, a 5-7 junior from Portland, picked up wins vs. University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser to help the Cavs improve to 11-1 on the season. Santos held No. 6-ranked SFU to two hits while striking out 14 batters. In a 6-1 win over UBC, she struck out nine while allowing just one earned run. It is Santos’ second CCC honor this season. Honorable mention: Brooke Davis, Northwest Christian; Jennifer McDonnell, Eastern Oregon.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track – Southern Oregon’s Dennis Olstedt, a junior from Seaside, Ore., won the 400 meters (50.97) and the 110 hurdles (15.32) at the SOU-Willamette dual meet. Honorable mention: Andrew Perri, Eastern Oregon; Ryan O’Dell, Warner Pacific; Chris Wilson, Concordia.

Field – Concordia’s Erik Kuster, a sophomore from Bedford, Va., was a double winner at the Pacific Preview, winning the shot put (48-11) by 11 inches and the discus (162-6) by more than 17 feet. Kuster’s discus mark easily surpassed the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. Honorable mention: Andre Archer, College of Idaho; Asa Miller, Eastern Oregon; Connor Streed, Warner Pacific; Seth Lindquist, Southern Oregon.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track – Southern Oregon’s Chenin Young, a sophomore from Upland, Calif., won the 100 hurdles (15.94) and the triple jump (35-7 ¼) and ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay (51.21) at the SOU-Willamette dual meet. Honorable mention: Emily McCutchan, College of Idaho; Christy Roe, Eastern Oregon; Stephanie Persaud, Concordia.

Field – Concordia’s Emily Redmayne-Titley, a sophomore from Aloha, Ore., registered an NAIA automatic qualifying performance in the discus with a 142-10 winning throw at the Pacific Preview. Redmayne-Titley also won the shot put with a heave of 37-10 3/4, more than three feet better than the runner-up. Honorable mention: McKinzie Anderson, Eastern Oregon; Holly Haga, Southern Oregon.

GOLF
Women – Concordia’s Sara Taylor, a sophomore from Vancouver, Wash., finished sixth overall at the Cal Baptist Invitational, a tournament featuring seven of the NAIA’s top 16 teams. Taylor carded rounds of 75-80 under less-than-ideal conditions to help the Cavaliers to a third-place finish and ahead of four nationally-ranked teams.
