CU Men Fall in Second Round at LCSC Invite

CLARKSTON, Wash. –Five strokes out of third place to end the first day, the Concordia men’s golf team stumbled five places to finish in a tie for 10th with a 56-over 632 at the Lewis-Clark State Invitational held at the Clarkston Golf & Country Club on Tuesday.
With back-to-back 295s to overcome a seven-shot deficit, Victoria (295-295—590), ranked No. 20 in the NAIA poll, defeated No. 10 Rocky Mountain (288-308—596) by six strokes for the team title. The host LCSC Warriors (304-302—607) finished fourth.
Despite adding seven strokes from the first round, Will Snow (75-82—157) led the Cavaliers by finishing in a tie for 27th place. Jonny Miller (77-81—158) was the team’s second individual in 34rd and Jed Dalton (76-83—159) followed in 38th.
Corey King (81-78—159) was the lone Cavalier to post a better score on the second day, moving up from 47th to 38th. Blake Blakey (84-79—163), competing as an individual, also improved in the second tour of the course and finished in a tie for 52nd place. Jeremy Webb (82-82—164) rounded out the Cavaliers with consecutive 82s.
Concordia returns to action on March 22-23 when it returns to Cascade Collegiate Conference competition with a trip to Blue River, Ore., for the Northwest Christian Invitational held at Tokatee Golf Club.
