CLARKSTON, Wash. –Leading from start to finish, the No. 8-ranked Concordia women’s golf team finished with a 44-over 620 to win the team chase by more than 40 strokes at the Lewis-Clark State Invitational held at the Clarkston Golf & Country Club on Tuesday.

With a 620 total, Concordia had the two rounds of the tourney to defeat No. 23-ranked Lewis-Clark State (328-338—666) by 46 stokes. One stroke back of the host Warriors, No. 6-ranked Victoria (338-329—667) finished in third place while No. 15-ranked Rocky Mountain (340-337—677) finished in fourth place I the two-day 36-hole event.

CU senior Lindsay Aho (74-75—149) captured her third individual title of the year with a three-stroke win over teammate Kim Lindow (74-78—152) and LCSC’s Cortney Shrout (77-75—152).

All five individuals on CU’s tournament roster cracked the top 10 in the 36-person field. With a 3-over 75 in the second round, Madeline Jarrett (87-75—162) moved up 14 placed to finish in a two-way tie for fourth place while Holly Speer (79-86—165) and Sara Taylor (81-84—165) tied for ninth place overall.

Through 13 rounds of play this year, Aho leads the team with a 75.9 stroke per round average which is more than two strokes lower than her school record of 78.0 set last year. Four current Cavaliers reside in the top six in CU’s all-time season-best scoring average with Taylor (79.1) in third place, Jarrett (80.2) fourth and Speer (82.2) sixth.

With a 78.6 strokes per round average this year, Lindow would be ranked third on that list behind Aho’s two top seasons but has not played enough rounds to qualify as her volleyball obligations in the fall kept her from the links on several occasions.

Concordia returns to action on March 22-23 when it returns to Cascade Collegiate Conference competition with a trip to Blue River, Ore., for the Northwest Christian Invitational held at Tokatee Golf Club.
