CALDWELL, Idaho - Pat Murray golfed a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the seventh inning, helping seventh-ranked Lewis-Clark State rally for a come-from-behind 10-7 victory over The College of Idaho this afternoon at Wolfe Field.

The Warriors (20-2) rallied from 5-3 and 7-6 deficits in picking up their fourth-straight win over their Gem State rivals this season.

Josh Ashenbrenner led off the inning by reaching via a hit by pitch and Danny Anguiano walked. After Brian Gaylord flew out, Murray hit a 1-2 curveball near his shoe-tops from Chad Yeggy into the left field corner, clearing the bases. L-C would add a pair of insurance runs in the ninth on Brian Burke’s tenth homer of the season.

It wasn’t easy, as the Coyotes (19-8), who saw a 13-game home win streak snapped, rallied from an early 3-0 deficit with a five-run second. Tyler Andazola got the Yotes on the board with an RBI single, with back-to-back bases loaded walks to Jordan Lanman and Izaac Garsez, tied the score. Diego Robles would give The C of I their first lead with a sacrifice fly, with Kyle Douglas capping the inning with a run-scoring single.

Murray would tie the score in the top of the third with a two-run single, with a Jake Eccles RBI double in the fourth giving the Warriors a 6-5 lead. The Yotes would tie the score in the fifth on back-to-back doubles from Jarel Lewis and Ray Santiago, taking the lead back in the sixth on a run scoring double play ball.

Stephen Foster got the win for L-C, allowing three hits in three innings of work – without an earned run, while Mitch Dame took the loss for the Yotes, allowing three runs in three-plus innings. Henry Buenrostro worked around a one-out double in the ninth for his fifth save.

Murray went 3-for-5 with four RBI, with Eccles, Burke, and Travis Georgius each recording two hits in the win for the Warriors. Garsez went 3-for-4, with Douglas, Santiago, and Andazola each recording two hits for the Coyotes, who turned a season-high four double plays.

The two teams close out their season series tomorrow with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
