The following Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as Players of the Week in their respective sports for the period of March 1-7:

BASEBALL
Player – College of Idaho’s Diego Robles, a 6-0 senior third baseman from Caldwell, Idaho, earned the award for the second time this season. In six games last week, Robles had four multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit outings. He blasted a pair of homers in a game at No. 7-ranked Lewis-Clark State. Robles batted .464, hit three HRs and drove in nine runs during the week. Honorable mention: Nate Hiebert, Corban; Mike Dickman, Concordia.

Pitcher – Jacob Kopra of Corban College, a 6-4 freshman from Gresham, Ore., had a standout performance vs. No. 13 University of British Columbia. Kopra held one of the NAIA’s top teams to just seven hits and no runs across seven innings. Kopra, who earned the honor for the second time this season, struck out two Thunderbirds. Honorable mention: Mitch Dame, College of Idaho; Josh O’Gorman, Concordia.

SOFTBALL
Player – Oregon Tech’s Ashleigh Larson, a 5-9 sophomore first baseman from Medford, Ore., batted .550, hit three homers and drove in six runs to lead the Owls to four wins in six games. Six of her 11 hits during the week were for extra bases. Honorable mention: Stephanie Nippert, Corban; Cassie Bishop, Northwest Christian.

Pitcher – Makenzie Marchbanks of Corban, a 5-6 junior from Sweet Home, Ore., picked up her second CCC Pitcher of the Week honor this season. Marchbanks helped the Warriors to a 3-1 record on the week, posting a 2-0 record in 14 innings of work and recording a pair of shutouts. She four-hit Pacific (Ore.) and two-hit Walla Walla University. Honorable mention: Taylor Schmidt, Oregon Tech.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track – Concordia’s Eric Burck, a senior from Ephrata, Wash., became the Cavaliers’ first NAIA indoor national champion by winning the 5,000 meters. Burck clocked a time of 14:33.22 to win the event by more than five seconds and set a school record by more than 13 seconds. Honorable mention: David Anderson, Corban; Ryan Matz, Southern Oregon.

Field – Concordia sophomore Eric Whalen of Tualatin, Ore., earned NAIA Indoor All-America honors for the second consecutive season, finishing in sixth place in the shot put with a mark of 53-10 1/2. Honorable mention: James Billstine, Southern Oregon.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Track – Andria Scheese of Concordia, a junior from Oregon City, Ore., picked up a pair of All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the mile (5:05.32) and the distance medley (12:13.34) at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Scheese finished fourth overall in the mile in addition to helping the Cavs’ distance medley team to a sixth-place finish and a school record. Honorable mention: Jessica Rouse, Corban; Kelly Clark, Southern Oregon.

Field – Katherine Tripp of Concordia, a senior from Sutherlin, Ore., posted a runner-up finish in the shot put at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her All-America performance was the fourth of her career. She registered a mark of 47-7 ¼ on her final attempt to move from fourth to second. Honorable mention: Emily McCutchan, College of Idaho; Holly Haga, Southern Oregon.
