FINAL RESULTS

MONROE, Ore.—Led by a successful title defense from Will Snow, Concordia captured its third straight league crown at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Championships Presented by Diamond Woods on Tuesday.

Concordia (299-303-307—909) led from the gate after a tournament low 11-over 299 in the opening round. Moving up from fourth after day one, Northwest Christian (312-309-306—927) fired a 306 for the lowest score in the final round to edge Corban (314-305-312—931) by four strokes for second place. The College of Idaho (312-303-334—949) dropped from second to fourth and Warner Pacific (327-312-325—964) placed fifth.

After the tournament’s lone sub-par round in the opening session, Snow (70-72-72—214) hit par in back-to-back rounds to finish with a six-stroke win over NCU’s Justin Ahrens (75-73-72—220). Ahrens lowered his score in each round to secure the second spot ahead of CU’s Jed Dalton (75-73-75—223) who sandwiched 75s around a 1-over for third place.

The CCC Player of the Year based off the lowest scoring average for the season, Joey Duwe (75-74-78—227) placed fourth overall to lead Corban and finish one stroke ahead of CU’s Jonny Miller (73-75-80—228). Miller fell three spots in the final round of action after entering the day tied for second place with Ahrens.

Corban’s second individual, Chris Dudley (77-76-77—230) placed sixth, one stroke ahead of NCU’s Brent McKee (78-77-76—231). McKee dropped his total a single stroke in both rounds after opening with a 78 to lift into the top 10.

Three College of Idaho players finished within three strokes of each other as Tyler Thurston (74-77-81—232) led the Coyotes in eighth and was followed by Jacob Reyes (78-74-81—233) and Kasey Allen (80-73-82—235).

Warner Pacific’s Andrew Johnson (80-75-78—233) sneaked into the top 10 to lead the Knights by tying for ninth with Reyes.

Duwe edged a trio of opponents for the lowest scoring average of the season among CCC individuals for the CCC Player of the Year honor. Duwe finished the year with a 74.23 average in 13 rounds of play to eek by NCU’s Ahrens (74.54), and CU’s Dalton (74.77) and Miller (74.85).

Ahrens concludes his CCC career as a three-time all-conference selection while Duwe, McKee and Miller joined Ahrens as repeat performers. Two freshmen, Warner Pacific’s Johnson and Concordia’s Dalton, cracked the top seven to earn all-conference distinction.
