Yotes Ranked No. 23 in NAIA Baseball Poll
CALDWELL, Idaho -- For the first time this season, The College of Idaho baseball team has entered the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, climbing to No. 23 in the balloting released this afternoon by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.
The Coyotes (23-9) are coming off a four-game series sweep of Oregon Tech - remaining just one-game back of British Columbia in the loss column in the NAIA West North Division. It marks the first time since April of 2009 that The C of I has been in the Top-25.
Of the Yotes nine losses - seven are to Top-10 teams, as the squad has dropped five to No. 1 Lewis-Clark State and two to No. 6 British Columbia, including three one-run decisions.
L-C State leads the poll, followed by Oklahoma City, Cumberland (Tenn.), Southern Poly State (Ga.), and Cal Baptist.
The Coyotes return to action this weekend, traveling to Salem, Ore., for a four-game series at Corban College.
