Lady Yotes Sign Middleton Blocker For 2010
CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho volleyball coach, Liz Mendiola, has announced the signing of Liz Myers to an NAIA Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2010 season.
Myers, an incoming freshman from Middleton High, looks to help in the Coyotes depth at the middle blocker position.
The 5-11 rookie was a two-time team MVP for the Vikings, earning back-to-back 4A All-Southern Idaho Conference honors. She also played for the Boise River Volleyball Club.
"The middle was an important position for us to fill and we couldn't be happier that Liz will step into that role, said Mendiola. “She is a gifted athlete who has the ability to be a dominant middle. We have a group of returning athletes who have set high standards for our program. Liz's character and work ethic are right in line with what we look for in our recruits."
Myers joins fellow incoming freshman, Janel Porter, as the first members of the 2010 recruiting class. "Liz and Janel are two of the best volleyball players to come out of the Treasure Valley this year and we are thrilled they will both be Yotes,” said Mendiola.
The four-time defending Cascade Conference champions open their fall training camp in August.
