NU Adds Eleven for the 2010 Season
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University Head Coach Gary McIntosh announced eleven student-athletes have committed to play soccer for the Eagles in the upcoming 2010 season. In all, four defenders, two midfielders, three forwards, and two goal keepers will be added to the Eagle roster. Six of the players are college transfers and five are coming in from the high school level. Ten of the eleven signees are from the state of Washington with one athlete coming from Idaho.

“This group of players coming in is a great quality addition to the team that is already here,” commented Coach McIntosh. “I am excited to see the new guys in action this fall and it is going to make for a competitive preseason. With the conference playing a back to back game schedule, I knew that we needed to make the roster deeper in order to stay in the playoff hunt,” McIntosh continued. “These players we have signed will add depth, experience, and talent to the roster.”
The Eagles are coming into the 2010 season with a third place league finish in 2009 and a trip to the semifinals of the Cascade Conference tournament as the league's No. 3 seed. The Eagles finished with a 9-5-4 record with a 6-0-2 record in the final eight games of the season. Three Eagles earned All-CCC recognition and Coach McIntosh was named the 2009 CCC Coach of the Year.
