"The team did an excellent job at representing NU," stated Eagle coach Mark Mandi. "They were very competitive, which is exactly what you want to see in your team as we approaching the conference championship meet. Lindsey Wagner had an amazing run in winning her heat of the 1500m in a lifetime best. It was the best I have seen her race, and she has set herself up to do well next week at conference. Chelsea Miller ran a lifetime best in the 400m dash. She has worked so hard to reach her goal of running under 60 seconds for 400m, so it was great to finally see her do that. Derek Woolsey is close to knocking one out of the park and it will be fun to watch him compete next week when everything is on the line." Mandi continued, "All-in-all, we has a great time at the track, today, and I'm really looking to see the team compete this coming weekend at the conference championships."
NU faced tough competition in the meet as teams from the University of Washington, St. Martin's, Gonzaga, Simon Fraser, Western Washington, Seattle Pacific and other schools from the Pacific Northwest took part.
The Eagles will now prepare themselves for the CCC Championships coming up next week, May 13-15, in Gresham, Ore. on the track at Mt. Hood Community College.
