SALEM, Ore. – Fifteenth-year head coach Marty Ziesemer announced Thursday that he has solidified his 2010 recruiting class with the signing of five players that includes four high school seniors and one junior college transfer.

The quintet includes junior Amber Kliewer (Fox Island, Wash.), as well as high school seniors Emily Boudreau (Redwood City, Calif.), Audrey Correa (Riverside, Calif.), Marlee Elmer (Couer d'Alene, Idaho), and Whitney Minamishin (Mililani, Hawaii).

“This is a solid group of new players that will provide immediate contributions," said Ziesemer. "They have quality soccer backgrounds that will enhance our talent level, but also will contribute to our overall team chemistry in a positive way."

Kliewer, a 5-foot-8 junior goalkeeper that prepped at Tacoma Baptist High School, comes to Corban after two seasons at Tacoma Community College. During her time with the Titans, Kliewer played both in the field and between the pipes earning the team's Most Inspirational Award as a freshman. At the conclusion of her sophomore year, Kliewer was awarded with a pair of Northwest Athletic Association of Community College (NWAACC) academic awards that included the NWAACC Academic Leadership and Academic Awards.

In her two years at Tacoma Community College, Kliewer helped lead the Titans to a win-loss record of 20-14-4 overall that included a fourth place finish in the NWAACC as a sophomore.

Boudreau, a 5-foot-2 midfielder from Notre Dame High School in Northern California, comes to the Capital City after helping lead the Tigers to an overall record of 14-8-5 last season. The senior finished second on the team in goals with 10, while leading NDHS in assists with six. Boudreau helped lead Notre Dame to the Central Coast Section semifinals, while earning All-WCAL League 1st team honors. At the conclusion of her senior campaign, Boudreau earned All-San Mateo Country and All-Daily News 1st Team honors to go along with a San Mateo County Times Athlete of the Week honor.

At the club level, Boudreau was a member of Juventus Destiny and helped lead the team to the 2009 California North State Cup finals. Boudreau also played for Juventus at the Super Y Nationals in Florida, the Surf Cup, and the Las Vegas Showcase. During her time at the club level, Boudreau and Juventus were ranked #12 nationally and No. 2 in Northern California.

Correa, a 5-foot-4 midfielder from Patriot High School in Southern California, helped lead the Warriors to a win-loss record of 18-6-2 overall this season and a spot in the 2nd round of CIF Southern Section state tournament. In her final season, Correa finished second on the team in both shots (53) and assists (10) and was third in goals scored with seven. Thanks to her performance on the field, Correa earned 2nd team All-Sunkist League honors and was a scholar-athlete thanks to her work in the classroom.

Along with her high school accomplishments, Correa also excelled at the club level playing for the Fullerton Rangers.

Elmer, a 5-foot-8 forward from Lake City High School in Idaho, arrives at Corban after helping lead the Timberwolves to a runner-up finish in the Inland Empire League and a fourth place finish at the 5A state tournament. Following the conclusion of her senior season, Elmer traveled to Korea for a semester where she helped lead her team to a 3rd place finish in league and earned all-conference honors in the process.

At the club level, Elmer competes for the Sting Soccer Club where she helped lead the team to a league championship and a third place finish in the state.

Minamishin, a 5-foot-4 defender from Kamehameha Schools in Hawaii, helped lead the Warriors to a 11-4-1 record as a senior and a spot in the 2009 Surf College Cup finals. Following the conclusion of her senior campaign, Minamishin was named 3rd team all-state after earning all-state honorable mention recognition as a junior.

For the past four seasons, Minamishin has been playing as part of the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club where she has helped the team to four championships that includes the 2008 Carlsbad Cup, 2008 Pateadores Cup, 2008 San Diego Surf Cup, and 2009 US Club Regionals. Minamishin also helped the Bulls advance to the finals of the 2006 Far-West Regional tournament.

The aforementioned quintet will join fellow 2010 recruits Alexis Beattie, Michelle Clubb, Rileigh Mankin, Tera McDonough, Audrey Sullivan, and Abigail Van Hoogen, who all signed in February.

Corban is coming off a third place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference last season thanks to a league record of 6-2-1 overall, while the Warriors advanced to the conference tournament semifinals for the second year in a row.

Ziesemer, who was named co-conference Coach of the Year in 2009, and the Warriors are slated to open the 2010 season on Wednesday, August 25th, against NCAA Division II member Western Oregon beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.
