EUGENE, Ore. – Third-year head coach Mike Gaffaney has announced two additions to his 2010 recruiting class, including a freshman and a junior transfer.

Coming off a successful high school career at Cottage Grove HS is 6-0 front-row athlete Lia Davey (pictured, left). Davey played two years on varsity for the Lions, earning Sky-Em League MVP honors as a junior.

Coach Gaffaney said, “Lia is an extremely capable player with a tremendous amount of natural ability and potential. She brings some much needed height to our front row and we are excited to see her develop and fit comfortably within our system.”

Joining the Beacons from the JuCo ranks is 5-7 junior Outside Hitter Alexis Han (pictured, right) out of Shasta College. Han played her freshman and sophomore seasons for the Knights after an illustrious high school career that included all-conference honors and a CIF Northern Section championship during her senior campaign.

“Alexis is an accomplished and experienced college player,” said Gaffaney, “and we expect her to add a lot to our roster. She’s a versatile, exciting and intense player and a natural fit for Northwest Christian and our program.”

These two ladies join a group of five previously announced signees for the 2010 season: freshmen Dana Clark, Janel Fetters, Chelsie Joyce, Maren Mansfield, and Cori Wallace.
