Concordia’s Alice Taylor was named to the 2010 ESPN the Magazine Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District VIII second team announced on Thursday, June 3. The Academic All-District teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

Taylor, a junior from Auckland, New Zealand, earned four NAIA All-American honors last season. After finishing 13th at the national championships in cross country, Taylor went on to earn All-American honors in the 5,000-meter run by finishing in sixth place at both the indoor and outdoor track & field championships. She picked up another All-American distinction as a member of the school’s distance medley relay team during the indoor season.
Taylor set school records in the 1,500 (4:32.74), 5,000 (16:48.31) and the 10,000 (35:40.35) during the season as well as establishing meet records in the 1,500 and the 5,000 at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
Taylor finished the year with the NAIA’s top time in the 10,000 while holding down the No. 3 ranking in the 5,000 and No. 4 spot in the 1,500.
To be eligible for ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America® honors, student-athletes must have a 3.30 or better cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale, have sophomore athletic standing, and be a starter or key reserve for their team.
