CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho women’s basketball coach Reagan Rossi has announced the signing of five student-athletes to NAIA Letter of Intents for the upcoming 2010-11 season.

The two-time defending Cascade Conference champions will welcome a pair of junior college players, along with three incoming freshmen to join 11 players from the 2009-10 season – including two-time All-American, Nicole Gall.

The Lady Yotes will get a needed boost in the paint – signing a pair of forwards, junior Melinda Perry of Layton, Utah, and freshman Lexie Kappel of Central Point, Ore. Perry, who stands 6-3, played at Otero Junior College in Colorado, where she averaged five points and three rebounds a game. Kappel, a 5-10 forward, was an All-Southern Sky Conference selection at Crater High, where she hit 52-percent of her field goal attempts, averaging six points and five rebounds, leading her team to a third-place finish at the 5A state tournament.

The squad loaded up on guards as well – as junior transfer AC Holt of Denver, Colo., will be joined by freshmen Diamond Mitchell of Chula Vista, Calif., and Dayna Drager of Coeur d’Alene. Holt, a 5-5 guard, transfers to The C of I from Hesston Junior College in Kansas, where she averaged five points and two assists a game, while Mitchell, a 5-6 guard, heads to Caldwell after earning All-Mesa League honors at Eastlake High – averaging 12 points, four assists, and seven steals a night. Drager was named North Idaho Female Athlete of the Year at Coeur d’Alene High, helping her team to three-straight 5A state championships, averaging 11 points a game, earning All-Inland Empire Conference honors.

The Coyotes will open up the 2010-11 season on Nov. 5 at the University of Great Falls.
