PORTLAND, Ore. - Concordia-Irvine broke open a close game with a 6 goal burst in the second half to ease past Warner Pacific 7-0 at Portland Christian High School today.

The visiting Eagles held a 1-0 lead at half before wearing down the Knight defense in the final 45 minutes. Rachel Hook scored in the 18th minute to give CU the early advantage and was a thorn the Knights' side for much of the day.

WP's Marissa McGinn managed to test Eagle keeper Megan Ferry early on with two shots, but did not break through.

Concordia began to push forward with purpose after the break as they cracked 17 shots at goal in the second period, versus just one try at goal from WP. Hook added another goal and an assist, with teammate Sasha Hudson scoring a goal and assisting on 2 others. Knight keeper Nikita Rivera was busy and made 11 saves on the afternoon.

CU head back to California with a 2-1 record, while the Knights fall to 0-1. Warner Pacific will return to action on Spet. 1st at Lewis & Clark College.
