LEWISTON, Idaho - Warner Pacific volleyball opened the 2010 season with a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-20, 25-15) of Walla Walla University, and a 0-3 loss to #25 Carroll College today at the Lewis-Clark State tournament.

Sam Kolakowski started her senior season with a 12 kill, 12 dig performance versus Walla Walla. Freshman Rachel Warick added 10 kills in her collegiate debut.

Melita Elliot (19 assists) and Whitney Valenta (17 assists) shared the setting duties, while Valenta (11 digs) and Caitlyn McCall (11 digs) anchored the defensive effort.

Warner Pacific fell to 1-1 on the young season after a 13-25, 21-25, 22-25 defeat at the hands of nationally ranked Carroll College in the second game of the day.

After hitting at a .266 clip versus Walla Walla earlier in the day, the Knights managed .130 versus the nationally ranked Saints from Helena, Montana.

Emily Damschen played perhaps her best game as a Knight with a team high 11 kills versus just 1 error. Caitlyn McCall was again steady on defense, contributing a team high 14 digs.
