Eagles Fall to Lewis-Clark State
LEWISTON, Idaho - The NU Eagles fell to three-time and defending Frontier Conference champions, Lewis-Clark State College, in the second game of the day, 3-0 (25-8, 26-24, 25-11). NU lost two setters to injuries during the match.
Senior Lauren Holtz led the Eagles with 7 kills and 6 digs. Teammate Heather Shulke had a team high 11 assists. Alexa Brown added 10 digs for NU (1-1).
Kelli Tikker led the Warriors (3-0) with 12 kills and 9 digs. Kim Fong had a game high 36 assists and Nicole Graybeal contributed 8 kills LCSC.
"Our first match (with Northwest Christian) was a little sluggish, but it was nice to pull out the win," commented Eagle Coach Jessie Dietrich. "The second match was quite a challenge as we had an early injury which was detrimental."
NU wraps up play on Saturday as they take on another Frontier Conference foe in Carroll College of Montana.
