Lady Owls Crush Red Hawks 5-1
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Crystal Foster scored twice leading Oregon Tech to a non-conference 5-1 win over Simpson University. The Lady Owls improved to 3-2 on the season with Simpson slipping to 0-2-1.
Tech got on the scoreboard in just the 4th minute as Foster scored her first goal off a beautiful cross from Lisel Frazier that deflected off Simpson’s goalie.
Molly Brabham put the home team up 2-0 as she stroked a free kick from 45 yards outs past two defenders for the goal in the 14th minute.
Tech’s Rebekah Nisbet delivered her first of two assists on the day crossing the ball to Meghan Drost who volleyed the ball into the back of the Red Hawks net as Tech took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Simpson responded after the break as Courtney Opie scored unassisted drilling a shot into the right corner of the net to draw the Red Hawks closer at 3-1 in the 54th minute.
The Hooters quickly responded as Crystal Foster scored her second goal of the game taking a corner kick from Nisbet and slipping it between the pipes in the 56th minute.
Oregon Tech finished off the scoring as Brooke Cole scored in the 58th minute on a direct kick.
The Lady Owls out shot Simpson 26-3 with shots on goal also favoring the home team 19-2.
Oregon Tech will host Mills College (0-1) at 7:00 pm Saturday night at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park.
