LA MIRADA, Calif. - Jessica Austin ripped a shot through the hands of College of Idaho keeper Melissa Holmes four minutes into overtime, as Biola University defeated the Coyotes, 2-1.

After a fairly even first 90 minutes, the Eagles (3-2) got Austin behind the Coyote defense, went 1-on-1 with Holmes, and hit a hard shot that deflected into the goal – the only shot in the extra session.

The Lady Yotes (2-2) got on the board in the 16th minute, as Jordan Huttash scored, securing a clearing pass from the Biola defense and knocking it into the net. The C of I nearly made it 2-0 late in the period, as an Amanda Boyce chance hit the cross bar.

Biola tied the match in the 71st minute, as Ashleigh Cooley played a cross to Victoria Dalla Zanna at the top of the 18, chipping a ball over the head of Holmes to make it 1-1. The Eagles nearly got the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute by Cooley hit the post.

The Eagles held a 16-12 edge in shots, including a 9-6 edge in shots on goal.

The Lady Yotes head home to open a five-game homestand with weekend games against Rocky Mountain and Carroll.
