CALDWELL, Idaho - Lauren Brophy headed home a cross in the 34th minute and the Rocky Mountain College defense withstood a flurry from The College of Idaho, as the Bears held off the No. 24 ranked Lady Yotes, 2-1, at Simplot Stadium.

Rocky (5-1) erased an early 1-0 deficit with a pair of first half goals, as Morgan Bowe flicked home a deflected ball inside the six-yard box in the 15th minute to tie the score. Later in the period, Allie Beckers served a ball into the area, finding the head of Brophy for the eventual game-winner.

It wasn’t easy for the Bears, as the Coyotes (2-3) held an 18-6 edge in shots – but tallied their lone goal in the fourth minute on an unassisted drive from Chelsea Heffner from the top of the box. In the final 45 minutes, the Yotes had chances – but one-time opportunities inside the box from Erika Mouritsen, Macy Egerman, and Amanda Boyce all were wide of the target.

Malin Johansson was solid in goal for RMC, making five saves, while Bowe led the team with two shots. Melissa Holmes had two saves for the Lady Yotes, with Egerman and Mouritsen each registering four shots in the loss.

Both teams are in action tomorrow, as Rocky meets Southern Oregon at 11 a.m., followed at 2 p.m. by Carroll College and The C of I.
