Corban's women's golf team competed this weekend at the Pacific Invitational in its second tournament of the season.
Hubert Leads Corban at Pacific Invitational
FINAL RESULTS
BANKS, Ore. – Freshman Caley Hubert (Gresham, Ore.) led Corban's women's golf team this weekend at the Pacific Invitational, as she shot the third lowest round in program history en route to finishing 13th individually at Quail Valley Golf Course.
In the opening round on Saturday, Hubert posted a 14-over 86 on the 5,807 yard layout in the Portland area. The first-year Warrior's 18-hole total nearly matched the program's lowest round ever, as Hubert came within four strokes of breaking the school record. Twenty-four hours later, Hubert struggled to a 22-over 94 and finished 13th overall with a two-day total of 36-over 180 (86-94).
Junior Morgan McComish (Salem, Ore.) would come in as the Warriors' runner-up with a 36-hole total of 39-over 183 (90-93), as she finished 17th overall. Rounding out Corban's competitors was sophomore Ashlyn Roos (Salem, Ore.), as she shot a combined two-round total of 84-over 228 (116-112) to finish 28th overall. Meanwhile, freshman Taylor Tuepker (Keizer, Ore.) played the first round only shooting a 47-over 119.
Corban posted an opening round total of 123-over 411, but could not field a full team in the second and final round and did not factor into the team finishes.
Whitworth would capture the team title with a come-from-behind effort finishing at 100-over 676 (339-337) that included medalist Emily Guthrie's tournament-winning 15-over 159 (81-78). Rounding out the team finishers were Linfield (335-346=681), Whitman (357-341=698), tournament-host Pacific (352-368=720), and Willamette (400-407=807).
Corban's women's golf team will return to the links on Monday, October 11th, to close out its fall season at the Corban Invitational played at Creekside Golf Club in Salem beginning at 8:00 a.m.
