KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech got 2 goals from Victor Corona and a Penalty Kick from Antonio Jaimes then held on to win their first Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) game of the year and first ever over College of Idaho Friday afternoon 3-2 on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. The win moved Tech to 3-4-0 on the season and 1-2-0 in the CCC. The Yotes fall to 3-3-0 on the season and 2-1-0 in the CCC.

Emir Kobic got the Yotes on the board early as he hit bullet from 25 yards out that deflected off a defender and landed in the upper right of the Tech goal in the 8th minute of play.

After a C of I foul, Oregon Tech’s Victor Corona took a direct kick from just outside the box and scored in the upper right of the Yotes goal to tie the game at 1-1, a score that would hold until halftime.

Corona started the scoring in the second half as he took a Leo Keiser pass then beat the goalie and chipped in a 15 foot shot for his second goal of the day to put Tech up 2-1.

Oregon Tech then took a 3-1 lead when Antonio Jaimes converted on a penalty kick in the 67th minute.

The Yotes kept things interesting as Drew Smith scored from 16 yards out taking a Mats Boehinke cross and finished past the Tech goalie to make it 3-2 in the 84th minute.

The Yotes kept the pressure on the final six minutes but strong play from Tech defenders preserved the win 3-2.

For the game each team had 14 shots with Tech holding a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.

College of Idaho had a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks for the game.

Tech goalie Tanner Lee went the distance for the win as he was credited with 2 saves. Aaron Reynolds got the loss going all the way for C of I between the pipes with 6 saves on a busy afternoon.

Oregon Tech will host Warner Pacific College (1-4-1, 1-1-0 CCC) Saturday night at 7:00 pm in CCC action on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. College of Idaho will take the 3 hour drive to Eugene to play Northwest Christian University (4-2-0, 1-1-0 CCC) Saturday night at 6:00 pm.
