PORTLAND, Ore. – The Warner Pacific women’s soccer team notched their first victory of the year with a 3-0 win over Southwestern College of Arizona.

Katie Miller scored a goal and assisted on another as the Knights outshot the visiting Eagles 25-4.

WP got off to a quick start thanks to a 12 yard bullet from Anna Heuberger in the 3rd minute. The junior midfielder dribbled into the right side of the penalty area and found the right corner of the net.

The Eagles’ Sami Palmer nearly struck right back for SWC, as she cracked a free kick from 20 yards that clanged off the crossbar.

Brittany Johnson made it 2-0 just 2 minutes into the second period by tapping home a nice through pass from Miller.

Miller then capped the scoring with her own unassisted shot on a run up the right side at the 72:42 mark.

Kelsey Messmer played all 90 minutes at goalkeeper for the Knights, making one save to preserve the shutout. Michelle McFarland made 12 stops in goal for Southwestern.

Warner Pacific improves to 1-4-2, while SWC drops to 2-5-0.
