PHOENIX, Ariz.—
Firing a 2-under 70 in the second and final round of play, Sara Molyneux finished in a tie for sixth place to lead Concordia to a ninth-place result at the Grand Canyon Invitational held at Coldwater Golf Course on Tuesday.

Molyneux (76-70—146) entered the second day tied for 17th but moved up 11 spots and into the top 10 with the second-best score in the final round of play on Tuesday.
 
Tournament medalist, Adriana Niclotti (72-69—141) of Cal Baptist posted the lone score in the 60s with a 3-under on Tuesday after tying for fifth place through the first round.
 
Nicoltti won the tournament by two strokes over Glynnis Price (70-73—143) of Western New Mexico and Sophia Elstrott (71-72—143) of Western Washington.
 
Western Washington (295-296—591) and Western New Mexico (292-299—591) shared the team title as both teams concluded play 15-over.
 
Concordia (319-305—624) finished tied for ninth in a field that featured 10 teams that competed at the NAIA National Championships of the NCAA Division II Super Regional. The Cavaliers tied CSU-Monteray Bay (321-303—624), a team that finished seventh in their NCAA II Regional last season.
 
Holly Speer (82-77—159) and Sunny Powers (82-77—159) mirrored each other’s scored to tie for 48th place while Samantha Webb (79-81—160) ended the two-day event as CU’s No. 4 individual. Anna Elofson (88-86—174), competing in her first tournament as a Cavalier, placed 78th overall out of 92 competitors.    
 
Concordia returns to action on Oct. 11-12 when it travels to compete at the Corban University Classic held at Creekside Golf Course.
