PORTLAND, Ore. - Neither team could get a winning shot into the net in two overtimes tonight as the Northwest University Eagles and Lewis & Clark College Pioneers battled to a 1-1 tie in Portland. It was NU's second straight tie as they tied George Fox the night before, 0-0.

After a scoreless first half, L&C finally broke the scoring ice with Natalie Levy's unassisted goal coming at the 57:50 mark. NU tied the score less than three minutes later when Kelsey Frasier's shot found the mark and that's where the score remained for nearly 50 more minutes of play. NU out shot L&C 6-1 in the two over times (16-10 for the game) but none of the shots could get by Pioneer goalie, Shayna Lentz, as she recorded 6 saves in 110 minutes of play.

The Eagles' goalkeeper, Jessica Kane, was also tough in goal as she grabbed three saves on the night.

"We had a tough first half and we dispossessed the ball quite a bit but turned things around in the second half," commented Eagle Head Coach Erin Redwine.

NU is now 0-0-2 on the young season and will return home for three straight home games beginning with Whitman College on Sept. 9.
