KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The men’s basketball showdown between No. 7 Oregon Tech and No. 11 Eastern Oregon University has been named the NAIA Div. 2 National Game of the Week.
The NAIA National Office released the game of the week Friday, and it is the first time a National Game of the Week will be played at Eastern Oregon University. It is the third time the school has been in a NAIA Game of the Week, a 2009 football game at Carroll College and a 2009 men’s basketball game at Oregon Tech.
The Owls knocked off Eastern in Klamath Falls on Dec. 18, 89-78. But, the Mountaineers have won five straight over OIT in La Grande. Tech enters the weekend as the lone undefeated team in Cascade Collegiate Conference play and winners of 12 straight. Eastern Oregon has won 29 straight conference regular season home games.
Tonight’s tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum. It is White Out Night in La Grande and fans are encouraged to wear white. The game will have a live video stream and live stats on EOUSports.com.
