EUGENE, Ore.  – The Northwest Christian University men’s basketball team only trailed by four points at half-time, but the Northwest University Eagles used a 60% shooting second half to pull away for the 68-52 victory.

NCU would keep the game close in the first half as they would comeback from an early 14-6 deficit to pull to within two, 14-12. Eash time Northwest would begin to pull away, the Beacons would come back to close the gap as Northwest would take a slim, 29-25 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the second half, Northwest would begin to pull away and build its lead to 46-35 nine minutes into the half. A 3-pointer by Jordan Call, and to scores in the paint by NU's Greg Peters would increase the Eagle lead to 19 points, their largest lead of the half with 6:05 to go in the game. NU would maintain that lead for the remainder of the game as they would post their 15th win of the season.

The Beacons shot 40% in the game, including a 1-for-14 effort from the three-point line while Northwest hit 5-for-8 three-pointers in the second half and shot 42% from outside in the game.

Northwest (15-5, 7-4) got a 17-point night from Jordan Call as the junior Guard went 3-for-4 from outside, adding four assists. Greg George added 12 points and three blocks and Stedman Richardson secured five assists to go with six points.

Northwest returns to Kirkland to host the Evergreen State College on Friday, Jan 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Beacons will be back in action next Friday night, taking on conference-leading Oregon Tech (19-3, 10-1) at 7:30 pm.
