College of Idaho's Kelly McCarty, who averaged 22.5 points per game and shot 80 percent from the field in two wins last weekend, has been named the Red Lion Player of the Week.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- College of Idaho’s Kelly McCarty, a 6-3 senior guard from Salinas, Calif., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
In two games, McCarty recorded back-to-back 20-plus point games as the Yotes defeated Southern Oregon 80-54 and No. 7 Oregon Tech 65-60. It was Tech’s first CCC loss of the season. McCarty shot a blistering 80 percent from the field, sinking 16 of 20 field goal attempts, including 4 of 5 from beyond the 3-point line. He also averaged five assists per game as the Yotes improved to 11-11 overall and 8-3 in the CCC.
