Eastern Oregon's Thomas McCarthy, who helped lead the No. 8 Mountaineers to a pair of victories, was named the Red Lion Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
McCarthy Named Red Lion Player of the Week
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Eastern Oregon University’s Thomas McCarthy, a 6-0 senior forward from Prineville, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
In two games, McCarthy averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals as EOU posted victories over Concordia (Ore.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.) to improve to 13-2 overall. McCarthy was 13 of 25 from the field, including 11 of 19 (.579) from beyond the arc. He has made at least five 3-pointers in three consecutive games. He ranks third nationally with 54 3-pointers this season for the No. 8 Mountaineers.
