College of Idaho Clamps Down on Warner Pacific
PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific was forced into numerous ball-handling miscues by pressure defense from College of Idaho in a 68-57 decision in favor of the visiting Coyotes in Cascade Collegiate Conference action inside C.C. Perry Gym tonight.
The host Knights (12-10, 6-6 CCC) committed 32 turnovers over the course of the game, directly resulting 31 points for the College of Idaho (13-10, 8-5 CCC)
The two teams played through five lead changes over the first 13 minutes of the game, but C of I took the lead for good at the 6:46 mark on a Tyra Rickman jump shot. The ‘Yotes went up by as many as seven points late in the first half, but a layup from WP’s Kelsey Mattsen cut the lead down to five (29-24) at the break.
C of I’s set the tone for the second period thanks to Nicole Gall, who hit a three pointer and scored a layup in the first minute.
