NCU's Shearer Earns Red Lion Weekly Honors
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Northwest Christian (Ore.) University Lindsey Shearer, a 5-10 sophomore forward from Oregon City, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Shearer averaged 18.5 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Beacons defeated Oregon Tech 90-78 and Southern Oregon 80-58. In the win over Southern Oregon, the Beacons’ first-ever over the Raiders, Shearer poured in a season-high 24 points. She had 13 points a night earlier as NCU posted its first-ever road victory over Oregon Tech. NCU (10-13, 6-7 CCC) has won six of its last eight games.
