Northwest's Bridges Top CCC Finisher in Bowles Meet
SALEM, Ore. - Northwest University's senior Seth Bridges of Anderson Island, Wash., finished fourth in the men's 8k Gold Race at the 37th Annual Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational held in Salem, Oregon this morning. Bridges ran the distance in 24:20.30, four seconds off his season's best as he finished behind winner, William Kincaid (unattached - 24:01.56), and second and third place finishers Sawyer Unt-Bosch (Boise TC- 23:05.96) and Jimmy Aribo (Lewis-Clark State- 24:18.47).
Southern Oregon's James Johnstone finished 6th (24:33.75), Concordia's Matthew Clowes7th (24:36.32), Ryan Sorenson of SOU in 9th (24:33.01) and Concordia's Ben Foubert in 10th (24:44.64). There were 266 runners in the field from NAIA schools, junior colleges and running clubs. The course was run in Bush Pasture Park.
"Seth had another great race," commented Eagle coach, Mark Mandi. "He is continuing to show he belongs in the front of any race."
Cascade Conference's Concordia men took the team title with 85 points while the Southern Oregon men took third with 94 points. Eastern Oregon was sixth with 172 points.
