The opening set would be a back-and-forth battle, as neither team grabbed more than a two point lead until Corban used a 4-0 run to earn a 23-19 lead following a Dees service ace. Unfortunately, the host Warriors could not keep Warner Pacific at bay as the Knights used a 4-1 run to pull within a single point (24-23). Not wanting to go extra play, Corban ended Set #1 on a Land kill for the two-point win (25-23).
Set #2 saw Corban jump out to a four-point lead (10-6) thanks to a Warner Pacific service error. Not wanting to go quietly into the night, Warner Pacific battled back with a 7-3 run to knot the set at 13-13 on a bad set by the host Warriors. Corban would never give the visiting Knights to lead, as the Warriors pushed their advantage to four points (20-16) on a Warner Pacific hitting error that forced a timeout. Corban would close out the set thanks to back-to-back kills by Rebecca Shafer for a five-point win (25-20).
The third and final set featured Corban jumping out to a quick five-point lead (7-2) before Warner Pacific battled back via an 8-3 run to tie things at 10-all. The host Warriors would continue to hold the lead, as Corban push the difference to as much as five points (22-17) before concluding the match on a Land service ace for the three-set victory (25-18).
Warner Pacific was led offensively by Kelsey Kurtz with seven kills and a match-high 24 assists, while Brie Schau, Kim Mulka, and Carly Barker added six kills each. Both teams will return to action beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21st, when the Warriors travel to Ashland to take on the NAIA's No. 16-ranked Raiders of Southern Oregon and Warner Pacific hosts Northwest.
