The Cavaliers (12-1-1, 8-1-1 CCC) nearly ended the match in the second overtime, as an Evan Denmark goal in the 104th minute was wiped away by an offsides call from the center official.
The Coyotes (5-8-1, 4-5-1) had an early threat in the tenth minute, as after a great run by Luis Gomez, a shot from point-blank range by Chenjerai Simpson was blocked by CU keeper Cole Dahle, with Emilio Yomaha missing the rebound sitter high.
The visitors broke the scoreless tie in the 79th minute, as Denmark played a cross from the right side over the six-yard box to a waiting Septi Danciu, who flicked the ball inside the far post for a 1-0 lead.
Inside of 20 seconds remaining in regulation, the Yotes were awarded a corner kick, with Yomaha playing a ball into the box, with Reynolds – who was pushed up for the final play, collecting the ball in the middle of the area, slamming the shot into the upper left corner of the net.
In the second overtime, the Cavs collected a loose ball near the center line, playing a through-ball to Denmark, who beat Reynolds for the would-be golden goal. However, after consultation between the center referee and assistant referee, the goal was disallowed due to offsides. CU had one final chance in the final minute, as Facundo DiPascuale hit the top of the crossbar on a 20-yard shot.
The C of I held a 19-14 edge in total shots while both teams had six shots-on-goal, with Dahle and Reynolds each recording five saves.
The Yotes finish the week traveling to Oregon Tech on Saturday for a 4 p.m. match.
