CALDWELL, Idaho - Kylee Nawahine recorded 13 kills and Whitney Brigham added 31 digs, as The College of Idaho extended their home win streak to 36 matches with a 25-8, 25-19, 25-22 victory over Westminster College inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The No. 7 ranked Lady Yotes (13-1) won for the tenth-straight time overall, defeating the Frontier Conference school in C of I’s online non-league home match of the season.

Set 1 was all C of I, getting six Torrey Hulsey kills in a 19-4 run to open the period, rolling to the opening win. Set 2 was tighter, as the Griffins (7-9) battled back from a 5-0 deficit to tie the match three different times – the last at 11-11, before a pair of Dani Montalbo kills and a Nawahine ace pushed the Yote lead to 19-14, as the hosts grabbed a two set lead.

The final frame was a back-and-forth affair, as the Utah school used a pair of combo-blocks, a Yote hitting error, and a Katie Vance service ace to take an 11-9 lead. Tied 20-20 late in the period, The C of I got two Montalbo kills, a Griffin hitting error, and a Melanie Palmer ace to force match point – as the Coyotes remained unbeaten all-time at home vs. Westminster.

Nawahine added five digs and three blocks in the win, with Hulsey and Montalbo each recording nine kills, and Ciciley Fox logging eight kills. Kelsey Soos had a match-high 41 assists, while Brigham recorded the most digs in a three-set match since Catherine Everist recorded 35 in 2007 (the mark is a new school and Cascade Conference record in a 25-point set).

Ashley Marchant led the Griffins with eight kills and eight digs, with Emily Atkinson recording 17 assist and seven digs. Libero Kyndall Kordakis had 13 digs in the loss for Westminster.

The two teams play a return match-up on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City.
