Knight Men, Women 9th at OSU Classic
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Warner Pacific Cross Country teams continued their season at the Oregon State Beaver Classic in Corvallis today, with both teams placing 9th against tough competition.
The ladies squad started the day off by running an odd distance of 6k, which is .75 miles farther than they normally run. The field was littered with Division I talent, which took the race out at a fast pace. They handled the extra distance with poise and looked good as a team. The Knights were led by Katelin Renfro in 24:45 which puts her in the top 5 all time for Warner Pacific athletes on that course. Heidi Lemon had a strong day to finish second for the Lady Knights in 25:27.
“It is great to see different ladies have strong performances each week," said coach Bryan Grove. "We have two more weeks to fine tune before conference and put everything together on the same day. The ladies looked strong for the third week in a row.”

The Men followed in an equally tough field to finish 9th out of 14 teams, ahead of conference foes Oregon Tech, Evergreen and Northwest Christian. Chris Meeker and Han White-Duong started strong and hung on for some solid performances, finishing 1-2 for the Knights in 26:33 and 26:43 respectively.
“Chris and Han looked great up front and I was also impressed with Leonel Jines who has been recovering from injury," said Grove. "He competed well and walked away with a 27:39, which was a 54 second personal best. The men continue to look better as a team and I look forward to returning to the conference course and finishing the season strong.”
