BOX SCORE

SALEM, Ore. – In a crucial Cascade Collegiate Conference men's soccer game Friday on Warrior Field, Corban and The College of Idaho played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer settling for a 0-0 draw thanks to a combined 11 saves on the afternoon.

Neither team really produced much offense during the first 45 minutes of play with Corban having the best scoring opportunity in the 30th minute when Aaron Kinnes attempted to thread a shot underneath a diving C of I keeper only to have the ball miss wide left.

The second half would turn out to be another see-saw battle, as Corban nearly broke the scoreless tie in the 55th minute when Kinnes headed the ball over College of Idaho's net-minder only to have it cleared over the end line by a Coyote defender. Just over twenty minutes later, Corban's Tillermon Kroon broke through The College of Idaho's defense on a free kick and missed scoring the potential game-winning goal by inches at the 75:20 mark. Neither team could crack the other's defense sending the game into extra play.

In the first overtime period, The College of Idaho controlled the offensive flow from the kick off with the visiting Coyotes registering the only five shots of the extra frame with Warrior goalkeeper Steven Mason making a pair of saves en route to keeping the slate clean and forcing a second overtime.

The fourth and final period of the game was a dog-fight, as both teams registered a shot without scoring and resulting in a 0-0 draw after the second overtime period.

Kinnes would lead all players with four shots (three on-goal), while Mason tallied a game-high six saves for Corban. The College of Idaho was led offensively by Parker Waddell, who had two shots (both on-goal) to go along with four saves by reigning CCC Defensive Player of the Week Aaron Reynolds.

Both teams tallied 10 shots with The College of Idaho holding a slight edge in shots on-goal (6-to-5), while also collecting two more corner kicks (7-to-5) than the host Warriors.

With today's result, Corban extends its unbeaten streak to four games improving to 9-6-1 overall and 7-4-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho moves to 6-8-2 overall and 5-5-2 in league games. Both team will return to the field tomorrow – Saturday, October 29th – with Corban hosting Oregon Tech and College of Idaho continuing its road trip against Northwest Christian.
